A teacher for 35 years, Ruth Sidney Charney is co-developer of Northeast Foundation for Children. Her groundbreaking book, Teaching Children to Care--Classroom Management for Ethical and Academic Growth, K-8 has sold more than 100,000 copies.

Leah Davies
Educator and counselor Leah Davies is the creator of the Kelly Bear character building resources for children. She has presented hundreds of workshops at local, state, regional, and national conferences and her articles have been published in dozens of professional journals.

Dr. Fred Jones
Dr. Jones has studied highly successful teachers for more than 30 years. His most recent book, Tools for Teaching, offers a description of classroom management in which the prevention of discipline problems, and training children to be responsible, place discipline management in a positive and affirming context.

Joe Martin
Professor Joe Martin is an award-winning educator, trainer, and author of several books, including Good Teachers Never Quit, When Students Just Won’t Listen, and Tricks of the Grade. Regarded as “America’s Top Educator Motivator," he supports teachers through his family of Web sites, which includes RealWorld University.

Emma McDonald
Emma McDonald is a veteran educator and co-author of several books, including Survival Kit for New Teachers and Survival Kit for New Secondary Teachers. She specializes in teacher preparation at the Region 10 Education Service Center in Texas and supports teachers at her Web site, www.inspiringteachers.com.

Cathy Puett Miller
Known as the "Literacy Ambassador," Cathy Puett Miller's work appears online at Literacy Connections, Parenthood.com, Family Network, and BabyZone. Cathy's signature is her passion for connecting children and families to positive, powerful experiences with reading.

Wendy Petti
Wendy Petti is the creator of the award-winning "Math Cats" Web site, author of Exploring Math with MicroWorlds EX (LCSI, 2005), and a frequent presenter at regional and national math and technology conferences. She teaches grades 4 at Washington International School.

Dr. Kenneth Shore
Dr. Kenneth Shore is a psychologist and chair of a child study team for the Hamilton (New Jersey) Public Schools. He has written five books, including Special Kids Problem Solver and Elementary Teacher's Discipline Problem Solver. Shore offers Education World readers tips for handling a wide variety of classroom challenges.

Brenda Dyck and Max Fischer
Brenda Dyck and Max Fischer alternate weeks as Education World's Voice of Experience columnists. Brenda Dyck teaches at Master's Academy and College in Calgary, Alberta (Canada). Her "HotLinks" column is a regular feature in the National Middle School Association's Journal, Middle Ground and she is a teacher-editor for Midlink magazine. Max Fischer is a social studies teacher in an Ohio middle school. A National Board certified teacher, he has authored nine resource books for teachers in the fields of social studies, health, and math.
